# internal error: file analyzer instantiation failed

Hi to all. 🙂

When running:  
bro -r my.pcap -b -C base/protocols/rdp  
(ubuntu server 16.04 - bro version 2.4.1)

I’m getting an error:  
Error: 1521789435.202907 internal error: file analyzer instantiation failed

I’ve found nothing on google or the docs.

How can I fix this?

Two questions:

\* is this an unmodified version of Bro, or did you install any 3rd party  
&nbsp;&nbsp;modules?

\* Does this also happen in 2.5.3? 2.4.1 was released in 2015 and we do not  
&nbsp;&nbsp;really support that anymore...

Please send the pcap if you are able. We don't have enough information to understand the problem otherwise.
