What’s the best procedure to upgrade from bro-1.1 to bro-1.2, does the make update work anymore?

If you did a 'make install-brolite' for 1.1, then just doing
'make install' should be all you need to do.
Otherwise you need to be a bit careful to not clobber any of your local
mods.
