Whilst enduring snow-mageddon here in the northeast of the US I had some
free time on my hands and was reading up on DPDK (http://dpdk.org/). I
was wondering if any of the Bro devs were looking at integration with Bro?

I don't think anybody is looking more closely into DPDK on our end.
However, we are working on a system that uses netmap to provide
similar capabilities, see GitHub - bro/packet-bricks: A netmap-based packet layer for distributing and filtering traffic.

I looked a DPDK a while back but as Robin said, we ended up moving more in the direction of netmap because it gives us cross platform capability (freebsd and linux) and it works for multiple vendors NICs unlike DPDK.
