The zeek.org website has been experiencing some problems over the past months (problems applying changes, loosing styling of sites, etc). It is built on top of a proprietary plugin, and we spent the majority of this meeting talking about options forward.
The favored alternative is to move to a more standard WordPress setup, using Gutenberg blocks for custom styling. This requires creating a couple of blocks for the elements that we commonly use – and reformatting our pages using standard WordPress. We are using a log of plugins – we have to check which of them should be used in our new setup.
Our website contractor is going to take a look, and will give us a price estimate for the work.
NSF Cybersecurity Training
In October, members of the Zeek team hosted a full-day training at the NSF Cybersecurity Summit. For details see our blog post.
We also discussed how to enable more people from the community to do trainings.
We currently are a bit less than 50% capacity.
