Did anyone every build zeek for a yocto-linux target? Or did anyone cross-compile zeek for an embedded application with some other tool? Is zeek a good choice for a tiny single-core arm embedded Linux host?
Many thanks for advice!

Zeek should run ok on small devices. There’s a user that used to compile them on small rPi devices for various projects. I’m not sure how active he is anymore though. It’s been a few years since I spoke to him about it.
We have some docs about cross-compiling. Unfortunately, they’re probably very out-of-date as none of us maintainers actively work in that kind of environment. If you want to give them a whirl and let us know places that don’t work, that would be amazing.
Thanks for answering. And for that link. I’m attempting to make a yocto recipe so among other things I’m trying out cross-compilation functionality. If anyone has done it and has a working recipe or experiences to share I’m very interested. In any case I will post here about the outcome of my attempts.
Looks like my employer thinks it’s too much work trying to make all these software components build under yocto. So unfortunately I will not work on it.
