So I was hearing rumors earlier that memory usage might be worse with
current git. Anybody seeing that? That would be a reason to hold off
on the beta.

So I suggest we wait a couple more days to get confirmation that we
aren't having memory problems before going ahead with a beta. Can't
hurt.
