Community Strategy:
Michelle spent the past couple of weeks examining the Zeek community and gave a short presentation of her impressions of the community and our use of community platforms (website, discourse, Slack, etc).
Points that were brought up during the ensuing discussion included:
- Different people can bring different resources - what kind of things would help us as a project?
- Many people don’t think that they are not good enough. People seem to think that they need to know everything to contribute back. How do we help people to get over that? People still can contribute in the areas that they are familiar with.
- We don’t get many user stories - what are the problems that they encounter at the beginning. Stories like these are really helpful.
FIRST
Aashish gave a talk at FIRST and reported on hie experiences. There were several people that talked to him about Zeek. This also led to a short discussion if it might make sense to co-locate a workshop with FIRST in the future.
About 85% of people attending the talk knew Zeek.
